1. Who we are
Lightspace ("we", "us") is an AI company, based atNairobi, Kenya. For any question about your data, contacthello@lightspacehq.com. We intend to register as a data controller with the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (ODPC).
2. What we collect
When you apply, reserve a seat, or contact us, we may collect:
- Your name, email address and phone number;
- Application details you provide (background, goals, chosen cohort);
- For corporate enquiries: company name, role and team details;
- Payment records for enrolled learners. Payments are arranged directly with our team; this website never collects card or mobile-money details;
- Marketing attribution (how you found us. E.g. campaign source and referrer).
3. Why we use it
- To review and respond to your application or enquiry;
- To enrol you, deliver your program, and communicate about it;
- To take and reconcile payments where you enrol;
- To understand which channels bring learners to us, so we can reach more.
We rely on your consent (given via the checkbox on our forms) and, once you enrol, on the necessity of processing to deliver the service you have paid for.
4. Sharing
We do not sell your data. We share it only with service providers who help us operate. For example communication and infrastructure tools, and, with your knowledge, employer partners during placement support. Each is expected to protect your data.
5. Retention
We keep your data only as long as we need it. Unsuccessful applications are deleted within twelve (12) months. Records tied to enrolment and payment are kept as long as required for tax, accounting and dispute purposes, then deleted.
6. Your rights
Under applicable data-protection law you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you;
- Correct data that is inaccurate;
- Ask us to delete your data, where we are not required to keep it;
- Object to or restrict certain processing;
- Lodge a complaint with your data-protection regulator (in Kenya, the ODPC).

7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, and we keep the amount we collect to the minimum we actually need.
8. Changes
We may update this policy as our practices and the law evolve. The date at the top shows the latest version.
